Eggstraordinary ~ Wee Watercolour!

Excuse the pun but I have some eggscellent news! A new 'Wee Watercolour' project has just arrived on my Online Watercolour School!

This wee watercolour is not only 'wee' because it is short on time but it might also be a fun activity you might like to do with a 'wee' one over the Easter holidays!

In this project I will show you how to decorative five different eggs using a range of different watercolour techniques! Did you know that egg decorating is actually an ancient tradition/art form? Decorated eggshells have been uncovered in many parts of the world, some dating back more than 55,000 years! So if you have never decorated an egg (or in this case an egg-shaped painting), then what are you waiting for! If you enjoy this activity you could even make it an annual event and create your own family tradition!

This project is free to all members (not just subscribers), so if you fancy giving it a go, all you need to do is sign up to membership (by completing your details in the 'log-in' area). It's totally free and once done, you will also have access to the other free wee watercolours, along with a number of other free painting projects.

If you don't fancy becoming a member just yet, why not take a look at this wee video which shows you just one of the five different decorative eggs featured in this project.

If you need the egg template, feel free to download the accompanying PDF below.

Don't forget ~ when you sign up to website membership you will also have access to the accompanying worksheets for this project which gives you lots more hints, tips & ideas!

Once your eggs are complete I will also show you how you can use them to create your own cards or decorative items.

Don't forget ~ if you know someone arty who would enjoy this activity why not let them know about this free project and send them in my direction. Or if you know anyone with 'wee' ones who are at a loose end over the Easter Break, why not get them to check out this blog post and give these decorative eggs a try.

Happy Painting!
